Monferrato with Gusto: Discovering the excellent wines recognized as DOC and D.O.C.G.

The main wines of the Monferrato area are Barbera del Monferrato (in its still and fizzy variations) and Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese that maibe is the most representative wine of this area.
 
Discover DOC and DOCG typical wines of the area in wine shops and wineries scattered on the hills.
 
The DOC wines of the area are: Barbera Monferrato, Rubino di Cantavenna, Grignolino Monferrato Casalese, Barbera d'Asti, Malvasia di Catorzo d'Asti, Gabiano, Piemonte Bonarda, Piemonte Barbera, Piemonte Grignolino, Piemonte Cortese, Piemonte Chardonnay, Piemonte (spumante), Monferrato (bianco o rosso), Monferrato Chiaretto o Ciaret, Monferrato Casalese Cortese, Monferrato Dolcetto, Monferrato Freisa.
 
In addition the area is known also for the production of “grappa” and distilled beverage.
