On the Po river banks

A boundless horizon marks your arrival in the most northern part of Monferrato, the one that stretches out towards the fertile Padana Valley. How can you enjoy the best in this corner of Piedmontese paradise? From Casale Monferrato, following the course of Po, the first stage is that of Morano sul Po, where you can visit the relevant churches, the ancient town hall and the Monument to Work.

Crossing the Po you will encounter the impressing Grangia of Pobietto and crossing the river you will find yourself in front of the hill of Coniolo, where it is interesting to discover the history of mining and materials at the Ethnographic Museum.

At this point go down and dive into the flat village of Pontestura, a village with an unmissable carnival and the passionate history around the castle cut down in the Napoleonic era. History as well as art thanks to the rich Colombotto Rosso Museum.

From here you go to Camino, which awaits us with the spectacular Fountain of the Hundred Centuries and the majestic shape of the castle, in addition to the Rosso Colombotto House Museum.

The Po divides the hill country from the plain where stands Fontanetto Po, a village with a scenic belltower but also fountains and the ancient water mill. It was the birthplace of composer Giovanni Battista Viotti.
