Riso & Rose in Monferrato, a flourishing festival! 

Riso & Rose in Monferrato year five: by now, the whole of Monferrato Casalese invites visitors to what has become a local festival in the true sense of the word! It is increasingly full of ideas thought up to meet the most varied requirements, alongside the more “classic” events (there are thirty-three events in total), all under the rice and roses title.
The purpose of the festival has remained true to its roots: to put on events and demonstrations in Casale Monferrato and the most beautiful towns in the Monferrato Casalese region to give visitors fun, interesting and attractive ways of exploring and discovering a whole area, from the valley to the hills (known as the “bric e foss”).
In addition to the two traditional weekends in May (third and fourth weekends), this year another weekend is included: a grand finale that should not be missed, on 29th May in Casale. Here, the historical capital of Monferrato will plunge itself back into its Gonzaga-ruled past, with tableaux vivants in costume, parades and pageants, and an incredible exhibition/market in the town’s streets, dedicated entirely to organic products, from food and wine to crafts and even bio-architecture!
With Riso & Rose, the Monferrato Casalese becomes one huge village that can be visited by car, on foot or by bicycle, with direct contact with the local people and places, to take part in the marriage of rice and roses..
