MoMu - Monferrato Museums Card

The town of Casale Monferrato and the Monferrato area are unexpected destinations not far from Turin, Milan and Genoa (about one hour by car) that will fascinate you.

The MoMu – Monferrato Museums – Card allows you to visit eight different museums with only one admission ticket that is valid for one year (from the moment of the issuing).

The museums included in the MoMu Card are the following:

  1. the baroque Jewish Synagogue in Casale Monferrato, a true jewel dated 1595, considered one of the most beautiful in Europe and the Jewish museum annexed;
  1. the Cathedral Treasure Museum in Casale Monferrato, where it is possible to see precious gold and silver works of art, ancient mosaics and wood wardrobes, vestments, etc.;
  1. the Civic Museum in Casale Monferrato, divided into the Pinacoteca (a picture gallery) – rich in works of art related to the local history and Piedmontese and Lombard art – and the Bistolfi plaster casts gallery - with more than 170 sculptures made from plaster, marble and bronze;
  1. the Sacred Mount of Crea in the village of Serralunga di Crea – not far from Casale, a Unesco World Heritage site, which consists of the Sanctuary, 23 chapels and five hermitages;
  1. the Ecomuseum of the Cantoni Stone and its infernot in the village of Cella Monte – not far from Casale,a small underground room carved in the stone; Monferrato of the Infernot is a Unesco World Heritage site;
  1. the Ethnographic museum in the village of Coniolo – not far from Casale, where visitors can admire the plastic models of the collapsed ancient village and the details of the underground mines, the tools and the means of transport used in the mine galleries;
  1. the Center for the interpretation of the river Po landscape in the village of Frassineto Po – not far from Casale, an exhibition that shows the main characteristics and the evolution of the landscape in the area connected with the river Po;
  1. the San Giacomo Museum of Sacred Art in the village of Lu Monferrato – not far from Casale, that includes vestiges of the history of the faith, objects, sculptures and goldsmith’s artefacts from 15th to 21st century.

 

The MoMu Monferrato Museums Card costs:

  • € 10.00 (adults);
  • € 8.00 (under 18 and over 65).

It is available at the Tourist Information Office in Casale Monferrato (Piazza Castello, just in front of the theatre) or in any of the eight museums mentioned before.
