The main events in & around Casale Monferrato on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th July 

 

* EVENTS IN CASALE MONFERRATO *

The Civic Museum is open on Sat. and Sun. 10.30am - 1pm and 3 - 6.30pm (admission fee) and hosts two temporary exhibitions:

- “Angelo Morbelli. Pittore del Monferrato” (Angelo Morbelli. Painter of the Monferrato): Angelo Morbelli is an important protagonist of Italian art between the 19th and 20th century; the project falls within the sphere of the celebrations for the centenary of Angelo Morbelli’s death and specifically wants to pay tribute to him, enhancing the current of landscape painting which the artist dedicated himself to during his stays in Monferrato;

- “Carlo Vidua. Una vita in viaggio” (Carlo Vidua. A life around the world): objects, books and documents collected by Vidua during his peregrinations throughout the five continents will be put on display; they constitute a one-off in Piedmont and take on a national and international stature due to their rare and heterogeneous nature.

 

The event of "Energica on the river" continues on Sunday 28th with aperitive in the evening. The event on Sat 27th is cancelled.

 

 

* EVENTS IN THE MONFERRATO AREA *

 

In the village of CASORZO takes place on Sat. and Sun. a celebration of the wine Malvasia (Battesimo del Malvasia); food&wine stand opens at 7pm; music and entertainment in the evening.

 

In the village of GIAROLE takes place on Sat. and Sun. the Patronal Celebration (Festa Patronale), with typical food&wine from 8pm.

 

In the village of ODALENGO PICCOLO opens the Astronomical Observatory on Sat. 27th from 9.30 to 11 pm (ticket: € 3,00; free under 6 and over 75). If the sky is cloudy the evening is cancelled.

 

In the village of PONTESTURA takes place the Antiques Market, with amtiques and vintage stalls, on Sun. 28th.

 

In the village of SALA MONFERRATO takes place the Patronal Celebration (Festa Patronale) on Sun. in the evening. Food, wine, dance and music. The event on Sat. 27th is cancelled.

 

In the village of SOLONGHELLO takes place a concert of the programme "Armonie in Valcerrina", at 5pm on Sat. 27th.

 

In the village of VIARIGI takes place on Sat. and Sun. the Patronal Celebration (Festa Patronale), with typical food&wine, entertainment.
